Banksy: arte di strada o arte urbana. Da sempre, questo termine, è visto e considerato in un’accezione negativa.

Sono quelle forme di arte, quelle di Banksy, che si manifestano in luoghi pubblici, spesso illegalmente. Proibito e vietato sono le parole che ci vengono in mente se pensiamo all’arte di strada. Molto spesso queste accezioni risiedono nel fatto che si tende a far combaciare l’arte urbana con i graffiti. In realtà sono due cose diverse. i graffiti sono prodotti unicamente attraverso la vernice spray, lo studio della lettera e soprattutto è figlia della cultura pop. Mentre la street art comprende in se i più disparati modi di disegnare, adesivi artistici, arte normografica, proiezioni video, sculture ecc. la sostanziale differenza tra l’arte di strada e i graffiti si riscontra nella tecnica non per forza vincolata all’uso di vernice spray. Non vanno confuse!

Fekner arriva a dare una definizione, di quest’arte,  intendendola come “tutto quello che sta in strada e non sono graffiti” .

Può trattarsi di una forma d’arte alternativa? Estrema? Dipende da noi, da come vogliamo intenderla e soprattutto dal significato esposto dagli street artists.

Tra gli artisti di strada più noti al momento abbiamo BANKSY. Artista e writer inglese, considerato uno dei maggiori esponenti dell’arte di strada. Un velo di mistero si avvolge attorno a questo personaggio la cui identità ci è nascosta agli occhi. La bravura stringe la mano alla curiosità regalandoci la comparsa di questo personaggio la cui figura è celata dietro la sua arte.

La sua arte trova realizzazione nella dimensione stradale realizzando pezzi che segnano ed esplicitano la povertà della condizione umana.

Un artista del sociale?

Probabilmente si. Ciò che colpisce di queste opere è forse la verità, nuda e cruda, che si portano dietro. Espressioni satiriche ricche di riflessioni, pronte a farci pensare e pronte anche a farci vedere il degrado, la deriva verso cui l’umanità protende. Assurdità della società occidentale, la manipolazione mediatica, l’omologazione, l’atrocità della guerra, l’inquinamento, lo sfruttamento minorile, la brutalità della rappresentazione poliziesca. Temi forti. Tutto questo tramutato in opere piacevoli, brillanti, riflessive.

Forse l’ostilità verso l’arte di strada nasce da questo: dalla verità buttuta davanti ai nostri occhi. Una verità che non siamo pronti ad accettare perché vivere nella non curanza ci fa stare meglio.

Banksy, attraverso la sua arte, ci sta facendo svegliare per farci capire, con una carezza, cosa stiamo facendo e cosa sta succedendo. Le conseguenze che le nostre azioni si portano dietro e forse dobbiamo cominciare a prestarci maggiore attenzione. Forse.

Street art non è sinonimo di incivile, ma di poesia mista a tacita riflessione al vero. Apprezziamo ciò che non è comune, ciò che ci dice qualcosa.
