Episodi di black face a Tale e quale show: “E’ la seconda volta che mi emulate in questo modo” esordisce Gahli dopo aver visto la finale di Tale e Quale Show. Non serve ricorrere al black face per assomigliare al cantante.

Parole forti, dettate dal fastidio di questa pratica ancora in uso, sono uscite dalla bocca del cantante milanese di origini tunisine. Anche Ghali ha seguito la finalissima del programma televisivo condotto da Carlo Conti, ma senza gradire l’imitazione di Sergio Muniz su Good Times. Ancora black face.  Uno dei brani più ascoltati del suo ultimo album. Ghali non ha voluto entrare nel merito dell’esibizione, ha voluto contestare semplicemente il trucco scuro sul viso. “Questo è black face” dichiara!

Black face: ma di cosa stiamo parlando?

Il black face, in senso stretto, è un tipo di make up teatrale diffusosi nel XIX secolo. Una pratica che consiste nel mascherarsi completamente la faccia in modo da somigliare ad una persona di colore. Si parla solo di teatro? Probabilmente no! Era una tecnica utilizzata per spaventare i bambini e per accentuare e nutrire il sentimento del razzismo. Per eliminarla è stato necessario sobillare un Movimento per i diritti civili degli africani da parte di Martin Luther King il quale denunciò i preconcetti razzisti e denigratori.

Una pratica che in America è stata ormai messa da parte, in Italia non lo è. Un episodio spiacevole che tocca il cuore del cantante in questione, accusato di polemica inutile. Mancata e necessaria leggerezza su questa esibizione, questo è quello che hanno consigliato a Ghali. Il cantante replica con molta tranquillità per spiegare il suo punto di vista. Non vuole accusare di razzismo chi l’ha imitato, ma semplicemente sensibilizzare questo tipo di episodi che ricorrono all’interno del programma, forse inconsapevolmente, ma è giusto porre un punto. “Non lo fa più nessuno e in America parlano di noi che continuiamo a farlo. La comunità nera più volte ha espresso disapprovazione per le scelte di questo show”.

Non si può far finta di niente!

Non si tratta di una denuncia quanto di una sensibilizzazione nei confronti di questi episodi che non possono passare inosservati. Far finta di niente, riderci su non è contemplato. Equivarrebbe a mettere a tacere anni di ingiustizie, sacrifici e proteste da parte della comunità nera che, ancora una volta, è spettatrice di episodi che non dovrebbero più essere. Quella di Ghali vuole essere un’esortazione alla riflessione. Una leggerezza che non deve più esserci e che deve portar via con se queste pratiche ormai in disuso.
